How the Split Pay model works
With the Split Pay model, employer and employees share the cost of the Deutschlandticket. The company sets the employee share itself — between €0.57 and €44.10 per Jobticket. The employer tops the amount up to the discounted ticket price of €59.85. Important: the employer share must be at least 25% of the regular ticket price (€63) — so at least €15.75 — for the statutory 5% corporate discount to apply. That means employees pay at most €44.10 and the employer at least €15.75. The employer share is entirely free of tax and social security contributions under §3 no. 15 EStG. Configuration is flexible in the dashboard — the company can adjust the employee share per Jobticket at any time, from as little as €0.57 up to €44.10. For companies that do not want to or cannot cover the full ticket, this is the most cost-efficient model with real impact for employees.
