FAQ - Deutschland-Ticket
The Deutschlandticket is valid nationwide and allows you to travel throughout Germany on all public transport and regional transport. You can therefore use your Deutschlandticket regardless of region. As a "flat rate for regional transport", it simplifies local transport fares as it enables travel across national and tariff borders. It is financed by the federal and state governments and is a strong argument for switching from a car to a climate-friendly mode of transport. Use abroad is not possible. Book now via the web app and simply download the TicketPlus+ app to your smartphone.
As a company, we have decided not to issue the Deutschlandticket as a chip card. We are focusing on issuing tickets digitally via our TicketPlus+ app (Android & Apple) or Google Wallet and Apple Wallet.
Yes, you can also purchase the Deutschlandticket for just one month. However, as it is offered as a subscription, you must cancel the ticket for the following month by the 10th of the month. If you are too late, you can pause your subscription up to 24 hours before the following month and then cancel it. This can be done quickly and easily at any time in your customer account.
No IBAN is accepted on TicketPlus+. You have the option of paying by credit card (VISA and MasterCard) or via Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Your Deutschlandticket is always valid from the first to the last day of the selected month. Up to 24 hours before the end of the month, you can simply use the pause button in our app to pause for one or more months. A pause can last for ever and can be ended at any time during the current month with immediate effect. You will not incur any costs during the pause. Please note, however, that if you end your pause early, you will be charged €58 for the current month.
With your Deutschlandticket, you can use all local and regional transport throughout Germany as much as you want (flatrate) for the valid month. This means you can use all regular buses, underground trains, S-Bahn trains, streetcars and RE/RB trains. Please note where your Deutschlandticket is not valid: - on DB long-distance trains (IC/EC/ICE/z.T. RE) - for the Flixtrain/ Flixbus - limited on tourist or historic means of transport In the fare conditions you can see all connections that can be used with the Deutschlandticket.
Your personal ticket is only valid for you and is not transferable. You cannot take other people with you free of charge. Exceptions are children up to the age of 6. Please remember that you will have to identify yourself with a valid ID document at ticket inspections.
Children can travel on their parents' Deutschlandticket until they reach the age of 6. From the age of six, however, children also need their own Deutschlandticket or another ticket.
Your personal ticket is only valid for you and is not transferable. You cannot take other people with you free of charge. Dogs and bicycles are not included in the Deutschlandticket. On a few trains in Germany, dogs are allowed to travel with the ticket. Please find out before you travel what conditions apply to your route before you start your journey.

When using public transport, you are obliged to be able to show a valid ticket at all times. It is at the discretion of the ticket inspector whether you have to pay an increased fare (EBE) in this case. If you want to be absolutely sure, we recommend that you print out your ticket confirmation and have it with you just in case. Note: You can also prove your valid ticket retrospectively and thus reduce the EBE penalty fee of 60.00 euros to 7.00 euros in accordance with the company's transportation regulations. To do this, contact the transport company with which you were traveling at the time of the ticket inspection.
